Production Team Vision and Expectations
TEAM VISION:
Our Production Team uses technology and creativity to create excellent, distraction-free experiences where people can meet Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him.
TEAM EXPECTATIONS:
Our Production Team uses technology and creativity to create excellent, distraction-free experiences where people can meet Jesus and grow in their relationship with Him.
TEAM EXPECTATIONS:
- Spend time with Jesus regularly.
We are leaders and in order to pour into other people, we must discipline ourselves to spend time with Jesus on a consistent basis. We must “fill our tank” spiritually to have something in it to pour out to others. - Assume the best in each other.
We need to take the default approach that our team members have our best interest in mind. - No Gossip.
GOSSIP= talking to someone about a problem who can’t fix the problem.
If you have a problem with someone, go directly to that person. This includes conflict between volunteers. It also includes things that you may disagree with from our team. - Love each other.
It must be ingrained in the culture of this team that we love each other. We must make it an automatic response to pray for each other, encourage each other, visit with each other, and take care of each other. We want you to help us create the culture you want to be apart of. - Be willing to be versatile.
We ask that you learn at least three positions on our team. This will allow us to move people around and create solid teams that will help us execute our experiences with excellence. - Help us Multiply and Develop People.
As a member of our team, we want to invite you to help train and develop new people to serve in production.
You can help us by consistently asking yourself:- “Who in my circles could serve where I am serving?”
- “Who am I developing to serve in my position?”
- “What other positions on the team could I learn?”
- “What ideas do I have that could help our team get better?”

Planning Center Online (planningcenteronline.com) is our hub for information related to scheduling, service flow, service times, audio playback and other elements related to the worship services. Please let your Team Leader know if you have any problems creating or logging into your account. Refer to Planning Center each week to listen to audio playback to prepare for executing songs and to get important information regarding our Sunday worship service. When you arrive for your scheduled service, please sign in to the live service via Planning Center Online so that the team can communicate via Planning Center Services.
How Scheduling Works
At Harvest, we believe that mature disciples engage in three activities known as the 3Ws. We worship Christ, walk with Christ and work for Christ. Working for Christ is an opportunity to help shoulder kingdom responsibilities by serving in work teams. To facilitate this, team leaders schedule volunteers to serve each week by using planning center online.
Once scheduled, an invitation email is sent to the volunteer for your response. Please review the schedule and respond accordingly by indicating your availability by clicking on accept or reject. Should you be aware of unavailable times, you should indicate such by “blocking out” those dates in Planning Center which should guide team leaders when they are scheduling.
In the unfortunate circumstances where you become unavailable for emergency reasons, please try to secure a replacement volunteer that you can recommend to your Team Leader.
Communication is important to the smooth running of any team and as such we encourage you to respond in a timely manner to the invitation to serve when you are scheduled.
Unapologetic Excellence
We strive to be excellent at executing our worship services and events. We intend to offer multiple training opportunities for new volunteers as well as current volunteers to learn new gear, new positions, and discover new ways to serve our church.
The Win
Though we will strive to be unapologetically excellent, the ‘Win of the Day’ is not that we pushed every button and had a technically flawless service. The ‘Win’ is seeing people encounter Jesus. The ‘Win’ is creating an environment where lost people hear the gospel and surrender their lives to Christ, and where we see people take their next steps in baptism, discipleship, and growing in their relationship with Jesus. We seek to reduce “distractions” that can affect this outcome. We want to be excellent AND see people encounter Jesus at every experience we create.

Rules of Professionalism
Even though the production team is comprised of volunteers, it is good to remember to treat your position just as if it was your profession. Again, your purpose is to produce sound, video, lighting and projection for the glorification of God, therefore, measure your actions and motives against this.
- Always be early. Many of your tasks need to be completed before the band can rehearse or start the service.
- Inform the Team Leader if you are running late. Things happen. We understand. But let us know.
- Focus on the service, not your cell phone, tablet, breakfast, etc.
- Protect your focus. If someone approaches the booth during service, politely let them know you need to focus. Most would not recognize how much the service depends on you being on point.
- No friends/unauthorized personnel in the booth at any time. The likelihood of distraction skyrockets and the results are not pretty.
- Treat congregation requests and comments with respect. You are a visible target, so you will get asked questions that may not exactly pertain to you. Gently direct them to those who can help.
- Follow the check list for your area of ministry. It was developed to provide a standard and ensure consistency in preparation for worship and rehearsal.
- Serve the musicians/singers/preachers. You can not contribute to a great service if they do not have what they need and when it is needed.
- Study your craft. It is a mixture of art and science. You should constantly be working to improve. This ministry is not the place for a complacent attitude.
- Respect the instruction and leadership of those over you. This includes the pastor, worship director, production team leader, elders, etc.
- Mistakes are OK. Poor decisions are not. Hitting a wrong button is a mistake. Missing a cue because you were chatting or on your phone is a poor decision.
